the nature of things not with david suzuki

The sun is shining and the weather is sweet.
I have been able to master the ability of
doing something and nothing within one
steady movement.
The former balancing out the latter.
The sun is shining and the weather is sweet.

Like always, I enjoy checking out what the electronic newsstands have to offer my mind. Tickling my curiousity with current events, that will be forgotten after the following headline. One thing I found was that science has now proved something we probably have all once or twice questioned.

Creative minds 'mimic schizophrenia'

Creativity is akin to insanity, say scientists who have been studying how the mind works.

It appears that both groups lack the important receptors to filter their realities. The lack their of, allows one to view what surrounds them through refreshed and uninhibited eyes. One sentence cools all artistic angst;
"Creativity is uncomfortable. It is their dissatisfaction with the present that drives them on to make changes."
However, lets not jump up in down in glee so quickly there seems to be a downside to all of this artistic glory. Apparently, the grande package of creativitiy comes with the inconveniences of the good old blues, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Lest we not forget, the side effects, of feeling as if noone truely understands you and that sweet emotion of superiority over all that surrounds you. I felt the need to look at a list to see the truth in their studies.

List of the artistically insane

  • Pablo Picasso: (Schizophrenia)
  • Jackson Pollock:(Bipolar disorder)
  • Claude Monet: (Clinical Depression)
  • Vincent Van Gogh:(Bipolar disorder)
As I was telling my friend about this we were led to towards the tangent of thought where I brought up that even Walt Disney held some factors of insanity. His desire to be cryogenically frozen can be one of them. I am a bit unsure if this is a urban legend. Regardless of its truths I will continue to believe that Disney was on that cryogenical tip. Like Mel Gibson, Jamie Lee Curtis and Elijah Wood in Forever Young. Where apparently; Time waits for no man but true love waits forever. Im sure tay-Z felt inspired by this lovely classic. My youngin self was defiantely into this one mustering out little bouts of compassion to mel gibsons icey blue eyes.

I must finish this off with giving a R.I.P shout out to another who crossed the line to the otherworld. Im sure all the animal conservationist out there have heard through the grapevine of the passing of the
Alaotra Grebe. The Alaotra grebe (Tachybaptus rufolavatus) was a medium-sized bird who was always nice to his neighbours that inhabited Lake Alaotra and surrounding areas in Madagascar. The Alaotra Grebe was once thought to have thrown in the towel to become a complete a social recluse. Last time it was spotted on the mean waterways of Madgascar was at the epic wedding of Tina&Leos in 1985. The high amount of haters unaware of the consequences to their actions can be blamed for the extinction of the once sedentary bird.

EPICTETUS

EPICTETUS:

Music:Billie Holiday: God bless the child

such beauty awaits you
within a balance of fragility,
from the impossibility of the ideal.
With or without,
the rays of splendor will come to reveal
itself at times least supposed.

My stay here has become prolonged and I have begun my ¨all day everyday¨ one month left sentimental state. Its silly how tardy I have been to realize my current situation. I am suprised by my naivity of believing that I was ret to go in supposedly one week. I recently realized that my life resembles an ideal version of an unsupervised summer camp. If my life were truely
a movie I would be instantly breaking out into a slow and monochromatic montage of all the things that have past during my years in Montreal.

So I shall attempt to enjoy that which will happen and that which is out of my control.
I want to leave by maximizing every advantage that arises. I had an amazing and borderline
divine brunch at chez moi the menu included; baguette with eggs onions, camenbert, pesto, djion accented by a spinach, mango, avocado salad with homemade dressing. Topped off with brut mimosas.
After taking a lazy stroll with Anna down St.laurent, stuffed from my previous meal and also
the infusing heat of the sun. I hit up the muesum of contemporary art with Shamso.
There were some pieces that were hit and miss but nonetheless I enjoyed them
I like this piece by Catherine Widgery with the contrast of the bathtubs often useful and cleanly function.

I have begun to take the leisurely hobby of watching Jeopardy in the afternoon. Magnifying my aged interests. Perhaps I shall perouse my way over to the Bingo Hall after, to enjoy a stroll and see my B23 buddies Muriel,Edith and Gwenavier? Lest not forget my trusty lucky Bingo dabbers.
Jeopardy is an old school love, I remember the days when Alex Trebek sported a moustache to ignite a revolution and they also did not have this whack futuristic set.
On another note, i loathe commercials to the point that I am insulted by how trivial they believe our minds to be. I just wasted a few minutes of my sacred time to a commercial that was creating a connection between youth rebellion and get this miracle whip. To the young and angry, there is nothing like eating a good tuna sandwhich loaded with miracle whip before striking the streets with anarchy.

I recently finished reading Franny & Zooey, marking another work off my eternal ¨to read list.

It made me want to sit in a bathtub and take up the hobby of reading&writting letters. A lost artform due to the facilities of techonology. Snail mail does live on though, I must admit I have a few amigos who stay strong to the antiquity of licking stamps and putting in things in various postboxes.
Seriously though, I have always and can seem to predict that I will always be a fan of Mr. Jerome Davids writing style. It feeds my constant aged teen angst inspired criticism towards society. I recommend this to anyone who is into you know, reading, laughing and perhaps even expand the capacities of their mind. I also discovered a new thinker through this book whose philosophies are currently tickling my mind. He goes by the name of Epictetus, known by many on the mean streets of Ancient Greece. His discourse often make cameos in this book so I was naturally curious to see what he was all about.

Oh how sweet it is to take a break from all that surrounds you.
Allowing the murmurs of saxphones and melodic voices to sweep in from the backallies, overwhelming all oratory senses.
The silence is sweet like a freshly baked treat coming out from your grandmothers oven.
Time leads you to recoil into the unkown hours just to make a dime.
Working within unnatural states to maintain the childish dream
with cartoon gods at your tactical disposal,
Creeping through empty buildings filled with peering eyes.
The end comes with a stroll home as everyone prepares to leave theirs.
Each step seeks the comforts in the sweet refuge of your reveries.
Sailing through the seven skies, in hopes of finding one that will be just right.
Your mind intterupts notifying you to do this now to appreciate
what will come your way after

On another note, I hate to sound like a hippie or anything but Nature truely mystifies my mind. My imagination is unable to fanthom the simplicity of its creations
Reminding me of the fine balance we intricatly play on a daily basis.

So much time can be absorded within the sink holes of contemplation
As we wonder where each door shall lead us
Oh and so, the possibilities are endless.
